DeXe 2022 in Review: What a year!
There goes 2022. An up and down year for crypto but a strong year for the blockchain builders like DeXe. Let’s look back at some highlights.
Before we get to the fun things, we have to acknowledge the double-headed eagle in the room: Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, where several of DeXe’s team members are now having to work on DeXe while only getting water and electricity for a few hours a day and while hiding in bomb shelters during Russia’s bombardment of Ukraine’s civilian population. Our Co-founder, Dmitriy Kotliarov, talked a bit about it when interviewed by Hackernoon about Ukrainian founders.
Let’s talk about DAOs. DAO principles are central to DeXe and that’s why earlier in the year we published an updated DAO Memorandum detailing our DAO governance principles and mechanisms, the same ones that could become foundational for all of DeFi.
In fact, everyone got to see those principles in action when a DAO member proposed and other members voted into reality a $10,000 4-stage Ambassador Program that rewarded people with funds from the DeXe DAO treasury for activities most contributing to the awareness and appreciation of DeXe in the broader blockchain community, including via translations, articles, quizzes, and an entire influencer program with a $30,000 budget.
With the DeXe protocol nearing release, we were able to show teasers of how it will look and function, including video 1 and video 2. On the technical side, we kept adding line after line of code to our GitHub and presented a technical report to our community on our 2nd anniversary. The $DEXE token became available in more and more of the biggest exchanges, including Huobi, Binance Cross Margin, Crypto.com’s wallet, and Coinbase Custody. And once added to an exchange, $DEXE gets a lot of action, as was evident when it was #1 in weekly trading volume on the BNB chain and Top 5 in performance relative to Bitcoin as measured by Alt Rank. Plus, Binance was so impressed with $DEXE that they made it available for purchasing directly with a credit card in 9 major global fiat currencies. We love our token holders and, earlier in the year, we got Binance to offer $DEXE staking with yields of up to 39% and Huobi staking with an APY of up to 200% for those who took advantage of these opportunities. Huobi also dropped $DEXE to its community to help spread awareness about DeXe and drive even more adoption.
Our community is making DeXe DAO worthy of its name by creating and passing one great proposal after another. Following up on the one that established a very successful Ambassador Program, they also decided to sponsor Binance’s Football Fever in a big way, bringing crypto awareness to billions of football fans and continuing DeXe’s strong tradition of partnership with Binance — the biggest crypto exchange. This collaboration made it into a Bitcoin.com article. Our partnership with Binance helps open new opportunities for community members to benefit, such as earning a 40% commission on new members they refer to Binance.
We also did a joint AMA with Binance talking about the World Cup and crypto that was watched by 16,000. And one with Huobi that was watched by over 37,000 crypto community members. Our YouTube interview with a major crypto influencer in the CIS space, Incrypted, got 2,700 views (a lot for that segment).
To promote good governance and asset management, we went to a number of events and helped make them even stronger. For example, we participated in a startup pitching meetup in Kyiv. We even hosted our very own Dexelence DAO Meetup in Lisbon for Web3 innovation. to one of the central cities for European and global innovation. And we sponsored the UkraineFilmFest fundraiser in Hollywood to bring more funds and support to Ukraine during this devastating time.
All this activity gained some serious media attention for DeXe, including a Bitcoinist article about asset management solutions and a NewsBTC article on DAOs done right,
All this is happening while the big work is being done behind the scenes, finalizing and testing the DeXe DAO and Asset Management protocol so it’s fully ready for the kind of a release that will definitely get noticed and be talked about. Stay tuned for 2023 and the 3rd year of DeXe.
