DeXe 2024 Wrap-up: A Year of Steady Growth and Innovation
Looking back at 2024, it has been a landmark year for DeXe Protocol. Building off of the success of the previous years, DeXe took big steps forward in every direction, highlighted by strategic milestones, technological advancements, and the unwavering support of our vibrant community. Below is a more detailed overview of the year’s key achievements, as well as some thoughts about the year ahead.
Markers of solid growth
In our space, growth is measured by metrics such as the value of assets committed to a protocol, the size of the treasury, and the number of DAOs built on the platform. In all of these measurements, 2024 brought robust growth for DeXe. For example, DeXe Protocol reached the milestone of $500M in Total Value Locked (TVL) and is confidently advancing towards the $1B TVL mark. This TVL growth is a reflection of the appeal our platform has across the DeFi space and its ensuing wide adoption.
DeXe DAO, already the #1 DAO on the BNB Chain, has climbed to the top 8 DAOs globally by treasury size with sights set on the Top 5. The strength of our DAO comes in part from it being the platform of choice for other DAOs to build on top of our tech and integrate with our ecosystem, with over 100 DAOs already built and governed via DeXe Protocol.
With our governance token, $DEXE, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the security and functionality of both our own DAO and any DAOs in our ecosystem, the listing of $DEXE on Binance, Bybit, Bitget, MEXC, Gate, and other platforms made DeXe even more accessible to new users. Our seamless migration of $DEXE from Uniswap v2 to PancakeSwap v3 on Ethereum further improved efficiency and user experience, underscoring our focus on usability.
DeXe’s philosophy has always been to decentralize and democratize the process of DAO governance. To that end, our Bug Bounty program and our deployment of Marketing SubDAOs are creating a more transparent and efficient governance structure for our DAO, which can also be implemented by any DAOs built on DeXe Protocol.
Security remains the top priority
At DeXe, security is not just a priority but rather a core principle. DeXe’s 6 extensive Protocol audits are our way of going above and beyond industry standards to protect our users. The expanded Bug Bounty Program brings in hundreds of thousands of security experts searching 24/7 for even the tiniest new bugs or vulnerabilities for a chance at a $6M+ prize pool and an opportunity for DeXe to fix any potential issues before they become a threat. We have partnered with leading security vendors to maintain robust defenses and stay ahead of any new threats that may emerge in the space.
Bringing DeXe’s technological innovation to our partners
This year, DeXe-backed technological advancements were pivotal for the growth and functioning of numerous projects. For example, our partnering with GraFun allowed them to introduce Fair Launches of memecoins to over 4 million users. Their innovative model built on top of DeXe tech ensures transparency, prioritizes the value for the community, and drives sustainable value in a field historically plagued by quick burnouts, rug pulls, and an overall unstable environment that kept serious investors away.
Together with HOT Protocol, we started the journey of developing decentralized governance tools for their 18M+ Telegram audience. The intersection of DAOs and social media communities is a vast and underexplored space. Telegram alone has hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of active communities of all sizes that could use the kind of innovative, empowering governance that DeXe provides. Our partnership with HOT will allow us to workshop governance tooling on a large and engaged audience, with the potential of scaling it to hundreds of millions of users later.
Commitment to community growth continues
DeXe’s commitment to education and community-building has been a cornerstone of our success from the start, and 2024 was no exception.
To educate more people about good governance practices and DeXe’s specific innovations in the space, we hosted dozens of Twitter Spaces and podcasts, diving deep into the latest market narratives, DeXe updates, and ecosystem developments.
Together with our long-term partners at the Binance Academy, we launched an impactful Learn and Earn campaign that spread awareness about DAOs and decentralization to a global audience.
The Binance Academy campaign was one of many high-impact community campaigns and trading events we ran in 2024. Among many others, the most memorable ones were the Binance World Championship 2024 and the WhiteBIT trading festival. Our community engagement campaigns inspired and engaged a consistently growing audience of 375K+ followers. There is now an army of educated, passionate evangelists of decentralization spreading the word about the power of DAOs and of DeXe’s specific solutions within the space.
Taking DeXe global
DeXe contributors took our message of effective and equitable decentralization offline as well, attending and presenting at various IRL events around the world. Among the most impactful engagements were our attendances at Token2049, ETHCC2024, Satoshi Roundtable, ETH Denver, and WebSummit. Our contributors also took the lead in 2024, organizing multiple events dedicated to DAOs and decentralization — continuing our culture of championing decentralized governance.
Looking ahead to an exciting 2025
Before looking ahead into the coming year, we would like to extend a massive thanks to our partners, community, contributors, and the entire DeXe family! In 2025, we expect much progress in scaling, multichain expansion, the launch of new features for the crypto market, and the integration of AI agents. Much of it may come as soon as Q1 2025. With the momentum of our 2024 growth, the year ahead promises to be full of new records, even stronger acceleration, even more impactful partnerships, and still the same wonderful community we love.
