DeXe DAO April Update

No time for fooling around this April as the DeXe DAO had a lot of work to do preparing our main product for launch. DeXe continues integrating the front-end with the smart contracts, fine-tuning the off-chain voting mechanisms, and implementing external auditor feedback to make the code even more hack-proof.

But not all of the work is technical. To get DAOs into fulfilling their destiny as a universal and better organizational structure, DeXe’s team members spread the word about our product, pitching it all over the world. Team members are exploring partnerships and collaborations that would be most beneficial to DeXe. Work is ongoing to make the UX as intuitive as possible. In both March and April, team contributors continued building a strong network of partners and recruiting new contributors to the DAO via various meetups and conferences in Ukraine and Europe. Core contributors are continuing to spend considerable time educating the community in person and online.

Back in March, core contributor, Dmytro Kotliarov talked about how DAOs affect employee rights (in Ukrainian), including more transparent and more decentralized decisionmaking, and access to a global pool of workers like never before. In April, Dmytro shared with Authority Magazine the lessons he learned during the 1+ year of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, such as the need to embrace change (often sudden), the value of working as a team during extreme circumstances, and what a hero really means. And in Forklog, Dmytro explored the topic of how DAOs can affect the startup ecosystem, focusing on community building, raising funds, and a whole host of DAO-specific benefits. Lastly, Dmytro did an AMA with our friends at Lysithea Ventures about DAOs, DeFi, and what DeXe’s approach is to solving some of the most prescient issues in this space today.

Another core contributor, Yuri Hotovyi, dissected the Silicon Valley Bank situation and whether a DAO could’ve saved it. Not only did he explain the role of USDC in SVB’s significance but also dissected the hot topic of whether DAOs can and should replace traditional financial institutions.

Speaking of outreach and education, DeXe DAO now has its own substack — subscribe here to get all the latest from DeXe. And if you haven’t noticed, we’re now publishing a DAO digest (like this) every Tuesday and a DeFI digest (like this) every Friday — so you can quickly catch up with key news in the world of DAOs and DeFi.

DeXe DAO contributors have been busy in April diving deep into topics both topical and evergreen. For example, early in April, we looked into Arbitrum’s AIP-1 fiasco and pondered what could’ve been done better (and how). We then looked into first Snapshot off-chain voting and how exactly it works (including some issues to be aware of). Then we balanced it out by exploring whether on-chain voting in its current form is worth it (and how to make it better).

As we’re approaching the summer, everything is coming together, generating many reasons to be excited about DeXe and the future of DAOs.

Stay tuned!
