DeXe: The Advent of DAOs
There is a tradition in some countries to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s Eve by having a month-long advent calendar with a treat you can get by opening the pocket in the calendar corresponding to that day.
This beautiful tradition reminds us of how DeXe has been preparing for the coming of the age of effective DAOs by taking strides toward better DAO management one little pocket of DAO magic at a time. As it happens, we recently presented a protocol for managing DAOs and investments in exactly such a way that lets anyone create a highly personalized, flexible DAO that can be much more effective and primed for rapid growth. It was part of our own evolution as a DAO and protocol, best described here.
Let’s take a look at our work to bring forward the advent of effective, fast-growing DAOs in the recent past. Fundamentally, we had to let the world know what is actually possible to do with DAOs before even showing how DeXe’s DAO management can solve specific DAO problems. That’s why we keep doing live AMAs. The one our team did with Huobi was watched by over 37,000 crypto community members. We talked about how with DeXe Investment, people can come together to manage investment funds with the buy-in and incentive alignment similar to those of DAOs and how DAOs can be so much more effective. We also addressed concerns about investor capital safety and other measures protecting everyone’s interests — when every participant feels secure and free to pursue his full interests (and potential), everybody benefits. In answering the host’s questions, we dived deeply into the mechanisms that make DAOs and investment funds work as intended.
Then at a live with Binance, we used very specific examples of how our protocol can start a new generation of creating and maintaining organizations in DeFi, whether for investing purposes specifically or any kind of a DAO — from as small as a family DAO to as massive as human imagination can take it. It was watched by over 16,000 blockchain builders.
We also went to the physical world to educate the market about DAOs. Sometimes we would do it directly as in the Dexelence DAO Meetup in Lisbon, where we brought the innovation of Web3 to one of the central cities for European and global innovation. We did the same at startup pitching in Kyiv, Ukraine, showing how the blockchain revolution is unstoppable even in the middle of the war Ukraine is suffering. At other times, we got people to pay attention by sponsoring important cultural events like the UkraineFilmFest fundraiser in Hollywood, which brought even more help to Ukraine and gave Web3 more celebrity attention. We then partnered with our friends at Binance to sponsor the Final match of Binance’s Football Fever that brought crypto awareness to billions of football fans, which is an important step for DAO mass awareness too. Once people see what an effective DAO can do, it can lead to mass empowerment to organize in truly DAO ways.
When you do the good work, it doesn’t go unnoticed. Already, the leading crypto publications are writing about DeXe’s influence in bringing forward effective DAO governance. For example, this NewsBTC article focused specifically on our DAO solutions. And this Bitcoinist article used DeXe as an example of innovative asset management solutions.
And this is just the beginning. Our DAO and Asset Management protocol will put relationships front and center and aligning the incentives to finally make effective management easy in DeFi.
