DAO numbers are growing slowly this week (TVL +659М; members +19.6k) after a massive Arbitrum-related spike in the previous week.

The Top 5 looks the same as in the previous week, with Arbitrum gaining a bit of ground on Optimism and all five growing.

DAO News

Arbitrum’s AIP-1 saga continues.

DAO Times is about to do an NFT drop, paving the way for financing DAO news production via NFTs.

Use case: using DAO-like principles to reform Dutch healthcare.

DAOs can both do good and earn a profit, just look at the VitaDAOs decision to form a for-profit entity for longevity research.

Aragon and Polygon Labs collab on a DAO builder.

Instead of wen moon, Moon DAO secures 22 spots for a Zero-G experience for members — milestone or waste of resources?

In 2022, the top 10 DAOs spent $55M developing product. How much do you think they’ll spend in 2023? Could it 10x?

DAOs still have to deal with legacy nation-based legal systems, so this legal wrapper framework from DAO Box can help DAOs stay compliant.

Speaking of legal issues DAOs can’t avoid, dYdX is ending service to Canadian customers because of prohibitive regulation there.

And even more: Sushi DAO’s key contributor was subpoenaed in the US.

DAO Proposals

Only one high-importance proposal is up for active voting this week — Arbitrum’s 1.2, their attempt to do governance right this time.

There are 22 active medium-importance proposals, including a couple each from Arbitrum, Decentraland, Uniswap, 1inch, and others. There are also 24 active low-importance proposals.

While it would be great to see more governance-focused proposals, it’s good to see team management happen in the DAO way.

Most Active DAOs

In a reminder that anyone can form a DAO for any purpose, an unknown DAO by the name of Iwan that has nothing in the treasury and no members has passed 119 proposals from 5 lifetime participants, becoming by far the most prolific DAO this week. Runner up, PancakeSwap, had 57, but quality over quantity! Top 5 were:

Which DAO would you want to be a member of? Which DAOs inspire you via their goals, structure and incentives? Tell us in the comments.
